April 5, 2012 – East/West – New Album Release by  James Ross and Paul H. Muller
Ventura Contemporary Music is pleased to announce the coming release of East/West, a collaboration by James Ross and Paul Muller.  East/West includes 8 tracks and 60 minutes worth of minimalist inspired ambient improvisation and processed music.  East/West will be available fro free download from this site on April 10.  Cover art by Carolyn Yarnell.    Further details here.

February 11, 2012 – Linear Obsessional Recordings  Releases Album by Paul H. Muller
London-based Linear Obsessional Recordings has released a new CD album Soft Sirens and Still Time that features 8 new ambient pieces by Paul H. Muller.  Available for download, the album contains scores and notes by the composer.

January 6, 2012 – Ventura Contemporary Music Now On YouTube
Several new videos featuring the music of Paul H. Muller are now available on the Ventura Contemporary Music YouTube Channel.

Thanks to Doug Laustsen at WRSU in New Bruswick, NJ for playing ‘Trade Center II – Smoke Rising From the Ruins’, an ambient piece by Paul Muller, on October 6, 2011.  The title track from the CD ‘Dark Sunset’ was broadcast on Oct 13. October 3, 2011 – ‘Comet Garradd Approaches‘  by Paul H. Muller On New Three Legs Duck Release
Comet Garradd and the Coat Hanger‘ has been released by the the Three Legs Duck recording label and includes ‘Comet Garradd Approaches‘, an ambient piece written by Paul H. Muller.  The new CD is a compilation of musical interpretations of a NASA image of the comet during a recent ImprovFriday event.  Details here.

September 11, 2011 – ‘We Remember 9/11″ on WPRB-103.3 FM Includes 2 tracks from ‘Dark Sunset
The two Trade Center tracks from the new CD ‘Dark Sunset’ were included in Marvin Rosen’s marathon broadcast of contemporary music commemorating the events of 9/11.  ‘Unknowing Dawn‘ and ‘Smoke Rising from the Ruins‘ were heard between noon and 2 PM Eastern time on Sunday, September 11.  Details of the program are here.  Playlist is here.

August 29, 2011 – ‘Dark Sunset’ Set for Airplay by Radio Marabu
The title track from the new CD Dark Sunset will be heard in September 2 on Radio Marabu, an alternative radio station broadcasting on-line from Osnabruck, Germany.  ‘Dark Sunset’ will be featured on ‘No Pigeonholes – European Edition’ a program of underground and independent music hosted by Don Campau.  A podcast of the program is available here.

August 7, 2011 – New CD Album Release - ‘Dark Sunset‘ – by Paul H. Muller
Dark Sunset‘, a new album of original ambient works by Paul H. Muller was released today by Ventura Contemporary Music.  ‘Dark Sunset‘ consists of 8 new minimalist-influenced pieces scored for various combinations of sequenced instruments and stretched in time.  These pieces were first posted at ImprovFriday events in 2010 and 2011.  Original cover art by Carolyn Yarnell.

‘Dark Sunset’ is available for free download in several high-quality digital formats at the Ventura Contemporary Music download site.

March 27, 2011 – ‘Unforeseen Consequences’ CD to Include Piece by Paul H. Muller
Steve Layton’s massive new two-volume CD ‘Unforeseen Consequences’ will include work by Paul Muller in one of the mash-ups.  ‘Unforeseen Consequences’ is being released on the NIWO label and will have 37 tracks consisting of 3 hours 45 minutes of music.

March 17, 2011 – ‘For Japan’ Benefit Album Includes Work by Paul H. Muller
‘For Japan’, a benefit album issued by Amaranth Records for earthquake relief in Japan includes ‘And Flights of Angels Sing Thee to Thy Rest’, an ambient work by Paul H. Muller.  All proceeds of this album will be donated to the American Red Cross Japan Earthquake Relief.

March 8, 2011 – ‘Chant‘ – from the ‘Directions‘ CD Played on WMBR Radio

Duopoly‘ a new CD on the Spectropol label will include ‘trom‘ a mixed track that  incorporates ‘Trumpet Warm-up #1‘ by Paul Muller.  ‘Duopoly‘ is a CD of mixes and mashes by Bruce Hamilton featuring a number of ImprovFriday musicians.

Directions‘, a new album of original instrumental works by Paul H. ‘Bells and Drone’ an ambient piece by Paul H. Muller, was selected for inclusion in the new CD ‘ImprovFriday Vol 2′ on Amaranth Records.
